A 1 day introduction to Freediving that builds confidence, teaches essential skills, and opens the door to the underwater world.

What is Level 1 Freediver?

The Intro to Freediving course is designed for beginners and anyone wanting to experience freediving in a safe, supportive environment. You'll learn the fundamentals of breath-hold diving, from relaxation techniques to underwater movement, all while discovering capabilities you didn't know you had.

What You’ll Learn

Breath-Hold & Relaxation

Learn proper breathing techniques and mental relaxation methods to hold your breath for 90 seconds comfortably and safely.

Equalisation & Safety

Learn how to equalise & essential buddy and rescue skills. Small group (6 max) to ensure a quality learning environment,

Underwater Movement

Learn efficient duck dives, finning technique, and swim 25 meters underwater with control and minimal effort.

Freediving Fundamentals

Understand how your body responds to breath-holding, freediving physiology, and the principles that make freediving safe and enjoyable.

Your Certification Goals:

  • Hold your breath for 90 seconds

  • Swim 25 meters horitontally underwater

  • Complete the PADI online exam

  • Perform safe buddy procedures and rescues

  • Understand freediving physiology, psychology and safety principles

  • Continue your freediving journey with confidence

Upon successful completion, you'll earn a globally recognised Basic Freediver certification, recognised internationally and transferable between major freediving agencies.

What to Bring:

  • Fins

  • Mask and snorkel

  • Wetsuit & wetsuit socks (3mm minimum recommended)

  • Weight belt & weights

  • Towel and change of clothes

  • Reusable water bottle and snacks

  • Pen, paper and yoga mat or towel for the Theory & Breath Work session

Who Can Join

  • No prior freediving experience necessary

  • Able to swim 200 meters confidently

  • 18+ years of age

  • Complete a medical check (medical clearance required if any conditions are flagged)

The Basic Freediver certification is your foundation. From here, you can:

  • Join our Boat Dive & upgrade to PADI Freediver level 1 certification.
