Who we are
Deep South Freediving is a fast‑growing freediving school based in Tasmania.
In just under a year, we’ve grown from zero into Tasmania’s largest, safest and most impactful freediving school, offering courses, coaching and community events that help everyday people connect with the ocean and with each other.
As a freediving instructor with Deep South, you’re responsible for the overall safety, experience and learning outcomes of our guests.
What you’ll do:
Teaching freediving courses
Assisting and leading freediving coaching sessions in open water and pool environments
Leading social and conservation events
Ensuring all freediving equipment is collected, cared for, returned in good condition, and maintained
Assisting on freediving trips and retreats

Who we’re looking for:
Qualified Freediving Instructor (PADI preferred; Molchanovs, SSI, RAID, AIDA, Apnea Academy and others also welcome)
Valid public liability insurance of at least $10m
Current First Aid certification
Experience assisting on freediving courses, or past experience in facilitation or teaching (desirable but not essential)
Reliable, safe, friendly, and someone who acts with integrity
