Knut Heinatz
-
Knut has loved the ocean since childhood, and that bond deepened through his PhD in marine biology. Two years ago he took up freediving and found it the most honest way to be in the ocean he'd studied from the surface - just your breath, your body, and the ocean.
Nature photography has long been a passion too, and his eye for the right moment now helps him share what he sees underwater. Not only to raise awareness for protecting these waters, especially in Tasmania, but to show why freediving itself is such a beautiful way to connect with the ocean and everything in it.
